We’ve been noticing an increasing interest in not just leafing through books, but also understanding the text. This is a Donald Duck comic book Matthias found in the library – he is extremely intrigued by it. When I mentioned we could start learning the letters so he could understand it better and read it on his own, his reply was: “god idé, mor!” (“good idea, mother!”) – 4 is not a bad age at all to start reading. Had we stayed in NY, he would be probably be able to read now. He still remembers some of the letters and calls them out in English, thanks to Ms. Pammie.
