Andy Warhol and high fashion

We spent our Saturday at the Brooklyn Museum (inside and outside) – we went to see Andy Warhol – The Last Decade - it was only 50 of his last works, which made the visit less overwhelming than our usual long tours where we come home with a very mixed feeling. I had the same feeling as one has with Dickens – if you watch/read them out of their time context, you find them maybe boring and predictable. But if you keep in mind the time they both created their work in, you realize it has great value. We stumbled accidentally into one of the rooms that had a national collection of American High Fashion   - a very refreshing alternative, extremely feminine and a fantastic view of early high fashion. Matthias enjoyed the shoes mostly, and had a  blast at the water sprinkles right in front of the museum. He needed a bit of encouraging by the local kids, as usual, he was in reconoisseance for about a half hour, then he ventured in.
